Andy Warhol (1928 – 1987) was an American artist, director and producer.

He began his career as a commercial illustrator in the 1950s before transitioning to fine art. Warhol is famous for his colorful silkscreen prints of everyday objects, celebrities, and images from popular culture.

His iconic images of Elvis, Marilyn Monroe, or Soup Cans defined Pop art and changed the way people appreciate art altogether.

He is considered one of the most influential artists of the 20th century.
