Andy Warhol was an American artist, filmmaker, and iconic figure of the Pop Art movement. Born in 1928 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, he became famous for his innovative works that blurred the boundaries between classical art and popular culture. Warhol is best known for his representations of consumer goods and celebrities, such as his famous Campbell's soup cans and portraits of Marilyn Monroe.
