The story of Maya the Bee was written by the German Waldemar Bonsels and published in 1912. It was adapted into an animated series in 1975, translated into more than 40 languages and broadcast in more than 100 countries. It gave rise to numerous derivative products, including toys, clothing, books, films and even an amusement park (in Belgium).
Maya is an inspiring character who encourages children to follow their dreams, be independent and respect nature.
