Beetlejuice is a cult film by Tim Burton released in 1988. The eponymous character, an eccentric ghost, helps a couple of ghosts chase away the new occupants of their house. The success of the film led to an animated series (1989-1991) where Beetlejuice, with Lydia Deetz, lives wacky adventures in the Afterlife, reinforcing the popularity of the character with a young audience.
