The Taj Mahal is a magnificent mausoleum in Agra, India, built between 1631 and 1648 by the Mughal emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal.
Made entirely of white marble, it is famous for its perfect proportions, delicate sculptures, symmetrical gardens and majestic dome reflected in the pools.
A UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Taj Mahal is one of the world's most famous monuments, a symbol of eternal love and a jewel of Mughal architecture.
