日本語Dragon Ball Z: coloring pages and official resources
Dragon Ball Z is one of the best-known Japanese animated series worldwide. Goku, Vegeta, the Saiyans, major transformations and spectacular fights have marked several generations.
This page gathers some official resources to find the manga, news and videos from the franchise, along with a selection of Just Color coloring pages featuring dragons, adventure and fantasy worlds.
Dragon Ball Z in the Dragon Ball universe
Dragon Ball was created by Akira Toriyama and began publication in 1984 in the magazine Weekly Shonen Jump. The early adventures follow Goku as a child searching for the Dragon Balls, in a setting mixing humor, martial arts and fantasy.
In 1989, the animated adaptation of the manga's second part was titled Dragon Ball Z. Goku is now an adult and the story introduces new opponents, space travel and increasingly large-scale battles. It is in this part that the Saiyans, Frieza, Cell, Majin Buu and the Super Saiyan transformation notably appear.
The success of Dragon Ball quickly went beyond the manga and television. Films, video games, trading cards and merchandise helped make the series known in many countries. New productions later expanded the universe created by Akira Toriyama.
The graphic style of Dragon Ball is also highly recognizable, with characters featuring dynamic silhouettes, very expressive faces and a blend of science fiction, fantastic creatures and martial arts.
Official Dragon Ball sites and content
Several official sites allow you to follow Dragon Ball news, find the different manga editions and watch videos published by the franchise.
- The official Dragon Ball site gathers news, feature articles, character information, games and the franchise's various productions.
- The Dragon Ball page on VIZ presents the English editions of the manga and helps identify the different series published.
- The official Dragon Ball YouTube channel offers trailers, clips and other videos related to franchise news.
Dragon Ball, Dragon Ball Z and the different series
It can be confusing to navigate the franchise's various titles, especially between the original manga and its animated adaptations.
Dragon Ball Z was not originally a separate manga: the name corresponds to the animated adaptation of the second part of Akira Toriyama's Dragon Ball manga. The VIZ site provides the different manga editions, while the official Dragon Ball portal gathers news about the whole franchise.
Over the years the universe has expanded with many productions, notably Dragon Ball GT, Dragon Ball Super, various animated films and numerous video games. Some continue the original story directly, while others propose their own continuity.
For those mainly interested in Dragon Ball's visual style, common themes often include: martial arts, adventures, dragons, distant planets, futuristic machines and fantastic creatures.
Other coloring ideas
These Just Color coloring pages are not related to Dragon Ball. They simply offer themes that may appeal to fans of adventure and fantasy: dragons, kawaii characters and imaginary worlds.
