My Hero Academia: the manga by Kōhei Horikoshi
My Hero Academia was created by Kōhei Horikoshi and began publication in Weekly Shonen Jump in 2014. The story takes place in a world where a large portion of the population has a power called a Quirk.
Izuku Midoriya dreams of becoming a professional hero, but he is one of the few people born without a Quirk. His encounter with All Might, the hero he has admired since childhood, nevertheless gives him the opportunity to join U.A. High School and begin his training.
The series then follows the students of U.A. in their learning, their training and their clashes with various opponents. Each character has their own Quirk, with its advantages and limits, which brings a lot of variety to the fights and situations.
The anime adaptation began in 2016 and contributed greatly to the series' international success. Several films, novels, spin-off series and works dedicated to the My Hero Academia universe have also been published.
The main manga concluded with its 42nd volume, but the series remains present through its anime adaptation and the various related publications.
