Ace 'Fiery Fist' was the commander of the 2nd Division of the Whitebeard Pirates and Luffy and Sabo's older brother. He was the biological son of Gol D. Roger, the King of the Pirates, whom he hated. Ace ate the Mera Mera no Mi, a Logia-type Demon Fruit that allowed him to create, control and transform into fire at will. He was also one of the few who could use Haoshoku Haki, which can render those with weaker wills unconscious. Ace possessed great physical strength, durability and endurance. As a child, he could fell a tree with a kick, hunt large animals and beat groups of adults. Later, he fought Jinbe on equal terms for five days and didn't flinch in the face of Impel Down's boiling 'baptism'.
