Impressionism is an art movement in France at the end of the 19th century. The Impressionists were a group of artists renowned for their innovative painting techniques and approach to using color in art. An Impressionist painting seeks to re-create the artist’s or viewer’s general impression of a scene.
The main artists of this movement are Edouard Manet, Edgar Degas, Claude Monet and Pierre Auguste Renoir.
