Manga Tutorial : Eyes

In this tutorial, you will learn how to draw eyes, in Manga / Anime style.

Be careful, the eyes are one of the most important part of a manga’s character.

It’s very important to be able to draw it perfectly, they define your character identify and unicity ! 

Step 1

First, trace the outline of the iris.

Step 2

Then, trace a circle arc inside the iris.

It will separate the dark part from the light one.

Step 3

Still inside the iris, draw the future pupils’ positions and the reflections.

Don’t forget to thicken the edges of the eyes.

Step 4

Now, you can color the top part of the iris in black.

Add eyelashes to increase the force of the look and very finely make hatches at the edge of the irises.
