Grande Arche of La Défense
The Grande Arche of La Défense, inaugurated in 1989, was designed by Danish architect Johan Otto von Spreckelsen as a symbol of modernity and fraternity. Some 110 metres high, it marks the end of the historic Parisian axis (Louvre - Champs-Élysées - Arc de Triomphe) and houses office space as well as a belvedere offering panoramic views over Paris.
