English uses the French name Art Nouveau ("new art"), but the style has many different names in other countries. Flirting — Biscuits Lefèvre-Utile, Alphonse Mucha, 1899. Original coloring created from an Art Nouveau advertising poster dating from 1899 for Lefèvre-Utile biscuits. Mucha depicts an elegant seduction scene: a young woman seated, head lowered, and a man in a suit whispering in her ear, surrounded by lush vegetation and ornaments characteristic of Mucha's style (arabesques, floral architectural frame). The mention 'Grand Prix. Paris 1900' refers to the Universal Exhibition.

Alfons Mucha - Study for an advertising poster (1900). The composition is based on a central circle, surrounded by a series of floral and geometric motifs. The central circle features a female figure, whose clothes are adorned with floral motifs and a wreath of leaves and flowers. Although this is a sketch, the details are very precise, reflecting Mucha's finesse and attention to detail (the original drawing has been slightly reworked to allow coloring).
