Charlie Chaplin - The Kid
This black-and-white illustration was inspired by the film 'The Kid' (1921), directed by and starring Charlie Chaplin. It shows Chaplin in his famous role as Charlie Chaplin, hiding behind a wall with a young boy - the Kid, played by Jackie Coogan - while a policeman watches them suspiciously in the distance.
The scene, full of tenderness and comic tension, reflects the spirit of the film: the unlikely alliance between a drifter and a street kid, trying to escape the authorities in an urban setting.
