Louis Pasteur in his laboratory - The father of microbiology (Historical events Coloring Page)
Louis Pasteur (1822–1895), a French chemist and biologist, is one of the greatest figures in modern science. In his laboratory, surrounded by flasks, test tubes, and his microscope, he devoted his life to unraveling the mysteries of life.
In 1857, he demonstrated the role of microorganisms in fermentation, then definitively disproved the theory of spontaneous generation. He developed pasteurization (1865), a process that revolutionized food preservation. His work on vaccines brought him worldwide renown: he developed vaccines against chicken cholera (1880), anthrax (1881), and, the crowning achievement of his career, the rabies vaccine (1885). Founder of the Pasteur Institute in 1888, his scientific legacy still saves millions of lives today.
