The Centre Pompidou is a major Parisian cultural center dedicated to modern and contemporary art. Recognizable by its bold architecture, with exposed metal structures, outdoor escalators and colorful piping, it was conceived as an open, lively building accessible to all.

Inaugurated in 1977 on the initiative of President Georges Pompidou, it has had a profound impact on the urban and cultural landscape of Paris. The building is home to the Musée national d'art moderne, one of the world's most important museums, as well as a public library, temporary exhibition spaces and art galleries.

Surrounding the building, the lively square reflects the spirit of the Centre Pompidou: a place of encounters, circulation and cultural effervescence, at the heart of Parisian life.
